Don't wait to be invited

We had the pleasure of hosting a Product Consortium gathering in our Esko Gent office. The first talk was about implementing POM at Esko, the challenges, early successes and learnings. The second one was by my study friend, and amazing design leader, Amir Azar. How to get a seat at the table as a designer and tell the story. Because product development is a team sport!

Reinventing how you build

This week's In the Pocket afterwork was all about the software factory of the future. Interesting insights on how to work with skills, AI + security, and how to lead teams into 'the age of intelligence' ✨

A new way of working @MIAT

First time at a Generative AI Belgium meetup, and it did not disappoint. About AI learning to hack your systems, social(ly awkward) robots and builders that never touch any code.

Exciting & terrifying

Thanks to Little Miss Robot for bringing together the Gent Product Design community once again! From scaling design teams and setting up product trios, to designing agentic experiences for the reviewer, to building products that people trust.

Designing for agentic experiences

Last UX Ghent meetup of the year was another great one! Even though AI has been the topic several times this year - for obvious reasons - this one had a different angle again, with many practical tips & tricks!

Product Design in Kortrijk

I felt a little old, reminiscing about how I as a student took part in a short European Product Innovation program in Kortrijk... But, great inspiration and ideas, and maybe I even spotted a few other grey hairs in the crowd.

UX Ghent at Bizzy

How AI is redefining SaaS products and what it means for UX. From rigid flows to adaptive experiences, or even no interface at all. And how to get the entire company to embrace AI, with a little help of a cute marmot mascot 😍

Sketching business ideas

I had the pleasure of guest lecturing at Arteveldehogeschool. The goal: Boosting the creative confidence of International Business Management students. We kicked off our crafty afternoon with basic sketching exercises. Students built their own visual vocabulary. Next, we explored how to craft vision types for the business ideas their teams had generated in a prior ideation session. To wrap things up, students created storyboards to support their storytelling. I loved seeing not just text, but lots of little sketches on the posters they presented.

Death of the Product Designer II

Talks about AI experiments, tips & tools. Followed by breakout discussions on how AI influences the role of the Product Designer, now and in the future. I enjoyed this new format, exchanging ideas with each other via good old sticky notes.

Death of the Product Designer I

About the need to evolve, experiment with AI tools, become adapt AI curators, to stay relevant. While I love playing with new (AI) tools, I think there’s still something to say for the craft too… so here are my notes, no AI involved 🙃✏️

Hi! I'm Debbie

a Strategic Design Lead, based in Belgium.

I love doodling, prototyping new ideas and product concepts, facilitating creative workshops, organising fun events. I also enjoy running long distances in nature, at a very slow pace, while eating lots of snacks.

You can often find me at ux/product design/tech meetups, taking notes and drinking beers. The result of which you can see on this site.

My day job is at Esko, check out

https://www.esko.com/en if you want to know more about our solutions for the entire packaging go-to-market process.
